Arizona Desert and a pit stop in Las Vegas

At the end of March 2011 I set off with my folks to visit my grandparents whom were escaping the cold in Lake Havasu Arizona. We flew into Las Vegas and I slept on a fancy couch at the Trump Tower overlooking the Vegas strip. After some minor shopping in the morning we set off in the rental van to Lake Havasu. I was probably looking forward to this 2 hour drive across the desert more than anything. We decide to make a small detour and visit the Hoover dam (setting us in another time zone for 10 minutes). Arriving in Havasu late afternoon, we are all surprised to find much more than a retirement community. We rented a pontoon boat and had a much needed day of incredible boating surrounded by breathtaking mountain, dunes and canyons. We even crossed to the California site of the lake for lunch and some slots at the Casino. (Putting us in 3 states and 3 time zones in 5 days). We journeyed back to Vegas, had an amazing steak dinner and took in a Cirque de Sole Show. Followed by some more major shopping in the major shopping in the morning and a red-eye flight home overnight. Vegas was great, a little over the top though, it certainly has its purpose. Lake Havasu on the other hand is quite the gem, I will be back!

Boldt Dancers. Enjoy The Journey 2011

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the Enjoy the Journey Benefit show held in Brockville in February 2011. The entire even was coordinated by the talented Stephanie Wellard. All the dancers involved put on a magnificent show for a good cause.
